Imagine having Kaká playing football in your living room

New Sony 3D TV ad brings the Brazilian soccer sensation to life in homes across Europe. New 3D store locator shows you where you can see it in glorious Sony 3D
The advert features former FIFA World Player of the Year and Ballon d’Or winner, Kaká, showing off his silky skills in stunningly immersive 3D.

The advert demonstrates Sony’s unique ability to provide 3D content from the ‘Lens to the Living Room’. Shot exclusively using Sony’s HDC P1 3D camera technology, the ad will be showcased in 3D at selected Sony Style stores across Europe, where everyone will be able to see the advert in its Full HD 3D glory along with lots of other Sony 3D entertainment. To find your nearest Sony Style store, check out our dedicated store locator here: www.sony.co.uk/Experience3D.

The advert looks out of focus when viewed on a standard 2D set; people without access to a 3D TV or Sony Style store will have to imagine the stunning football moves when seen in stunning Full HD 3D on a BRAVIA TV for now. This dream becomes a reality in June, when Sony’s full range of 3D products will appear in stores across Europe, in time for the FIFA World Cup.

On the subject of the new 3D TV ad, Giles Morrison, General Manager, Marketing, Sony Europe, said: “With this new spot, we really wanted to get into the neurology of football and how it encapsulates people’s emotions. Watching football in 3D will completely redefine the home viewing experience for fans across Europe, and we wanted to give them a taste of the future. Consumers are only imagining 3D football in the home at the moment, but the reality is coming this Summer.”

Produced by advertising agency Anomaly, the ad was directed by the award-winning Jonathan Glazer of Academy Productions. Glazer has previously produced music videos for the likes of Blur and Radiohead, as well as numerous adverts and two feature films.

Sony and FIFA recently confirmed that they would be filming 25 matches in the FIFA World Cup™ in 3D. In anticipation of the 3D live broadcasts and a series of public viewing opportunities around the world, the general public can enjoy 3D promotional trailers for each of the 25 games, shown on Sony 3D TVs in nearly 1,300 Sony-affiliated retail stores and flagship stores throughout Europe. Furthermore, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has unveiled plans to release the official 3D FIFA World Cup film on Blu-ray Disc during 2010.
