Giorgio Armani is pleased to announce that Emporio Armani will be an official sponsor of the XIII Fina World Swimming Championships Rome 2009, which will take place this summer between 17th July and 2nd August. Giorgio Armani has designed the official uniforms for the Italian team and members of the Fina committee. The look created by the designer specifically for the athletes includes a two piece suit in navy blue jersey, with a two-button jacket featuring contrast white piping which is paired with trousers in a soft cut with a drawstring waist and a polo shirt in navy blue cotton piqué and white sneakers in suede, with edges and logo embroidered in blue. Giorgio Armani’s relationship with the world of sport is well-documented. He has dressed numerous champions, and has also published a book called ‘Faces of Sport’, featuring remarkable images of champion sportsmen and women including Olympic athletes, to raise money and awareness for the international Special Olympics movement.
