TOY STORY ACTION HEROES STAR IN NEW
adidas and Disney Consumer Products are proud to present the new fall/winter 2010 kids and infant collection from adidas timed to mark the release of Disney•Pixar’s Toy Story 3 opening on June 18 across U.S. theatres. The creators of the beloved Toy Story films re-open the toy box and bring moviegoers back to the delightful world of our favourite gang of characters in Toy Story 3. The new adidas Kids collection inspired by the film features cowboy Woody, space ranger Buzz Lightyear, the Army Men and Bo-Peep, brought to life in vibrant colours, fresh designs and multi-coloured prints. The Toy Story collection for boys and girls consists of apparel and footwear available in adidas Sport Performance Stores, select Disney Stores and at sports retailers globally.
“Our design inspiration for all shoes is to do what Disney does best: to tell the story of the movie characters and bring them to life! So kids really wear their favourite character on their feet,” says the adidas designer Daniel Rabus for kids’ footwear. “I watched Disney’s first Toy Story film with my little sister in 1996 and she loved it. Today I watch it with my little son and he loves it too. I think the themes of friendship and playing are completely timeless so will continue to appeal to the next generation of kids.”
This footwear highlight in fall/winter 2010, is the Disney Vulkid Mid model which comes in different designs with kids’ favourite Toy Story characters on them: Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Bo-Peep and the Army Men. The footwear is available in different executions such as hook and loop closure for the smaller kids and infants. The design reflects the special characteristics of each character from the film through colours, materials and applications.
Alongside this season’s stunning footwear models, the unique line introduces matching fall/winter 2010 Toy Story apparel pieces that feature cheerful colours, cool metallic prints and vibrant graphics on each piece of the collection. The Buzz Lightyear-inspired apparel is high tech and has a space look; The Woody-based items are a lot more casual with settled colours like brown and orange, while the apparel featuring Bo-Peep’s is cute and girly. The collection also features a lot of special details, such as inclusion of Bo Peep’s “lost sheep” as little badges made out of fluffy material, which make them look like real little sheep.
The fall/winter 2010 collection hits stores in June 2010 with several product drops throughout the season. It is being distributed via adidas Sport Performance Stores, select Disney Stores and sports retailers globally. Prices for infant products range from €10 for the Toy Story boys’ and girls’ apparel, €40 for infants’ sets, and €35 for the Disney Vulkid.
