Armani designs custom wardrobe for Alicia Keys’ the element of freedom european tour
Giorgio Armani has added his iconic creative style to Alicia Keys’ The Element of Freedom European tour by designing a custom wardrobe for his friend, the multi-talented Grammy winner, songwriter, performer and producer. This follows their collaboration for her last tour As I Am in 2008.
Alicia Keys’ wardrobe includes four signature Giorgio Armani and Emporio Armani looks.
The first is a military leather jacket with crocodile print and embroidery on shoulders, while wrists and waist feature a mix of metal elements, crystals and sequins. The jacket is paired with a one-shoulder top in silk cady and leggings. Leather boots with tone-on-tone Swarovsky crystals complete the look.
Her second look is a one-shoulder top in silk cady with embroidery detail, worn with leggings and leather boots featuring tone-on-tone Swarovski crystals. Cuffs are embroidered all over with a mix of metal elements, crystals and sequins.
The third look is a one-shoulder silk chiffon gown in dark grey, with beaded bust featuring Swarovski crystals and sequins. The look is completed with black sandals featuring Swarovski crystals.
Finally, the fourth look is a black mini dress in viscose lamé with strong shoulders and cascade ruffle. The dress is paired with leather boots, and gloves embroidered with Swarovsky crystals, metal elements and sequins.
The designer’s friendship with Alicia Keys has grown over the years through a series of collaborations including special designs for her red carpet appearances at the 2006 Grammy Awards, the 2007 American Music Awards and Alicia’s own Black Ball, as well as at the Oscars in 2009. Fund raising initiatives have also been an important part of their friendship with Alicia presenting at the launch of Giorgio Armani’s EMPORIO ARMANI (PRODUCT) RED collection at his One Night Only event in London in 2006. Alicia Keys then partnered with Giorgio Armani for the Fashion Rocks for the Prince’s Trust charity event at London’s Royal Albert Hall in October 2007. In turn Giorgio Armani has supported Alicia Keys’ Black Ball in 2006, 2007 and 2009, as well as designing her custom wardrobe for As I Am world tour in 2008.
The Element of Freedom European tour kicked off in Lisbon, Portugal on April 29, 2010 and continues throughout Europe until early June 2010.
