Cougar De-clawed by Google
The Art of Love: Google is changing the classification of the Cougar term to “non-family safe” or adult.
LOS ANGELES, CA, May 17, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ — It isn’t easy being a Cougar these days. First an article came out that women who marry younger men have a shorter life expectancy, then the producer of the hit show “Cougar Town” decided he wants to change the name of the show and now Google is changing the classification of the Cougar term to “non-family safe” or adult.
This means that Cougar dating websites where older women can meet younger men will no longer be able to advertise on the Google custom-content network.
Claudia Opdenkelder, founder of CougarLife.com says she was recently informed by Google that it is classifying ads promoting the concept of “Cougar dating” as unsafe for family audiences.
So, exactly what is unsafe about older women dating younger men? Apparently, the Mountainview, Ca based company has bought into the myth that these relationships are just about sex.
Lucia, a dating/relationship expert, the #1 Cougar dating expert and author of, “Lucia’s Lessons of Love” says, “I have been an advocate of Cougar dating since 2005. I can unequivocally tell you it isn’t just about sex. There are many happy Cougar couples who would be absolutely miserable dating or being married to people their own age. It will now be more difficult for older women and younger men to find each other online. China censored Google and now Google is censoring Cougars. Today it’s Cougars, tomorrow it could be you.”
Lucia is a dating/relationship expert specializing in Cougar relationships. She has been on numerous national and international TV and radio shows including Dr. Phil, The Tyra Banks Show, E! Entertainment, 60 Minutes Australia, The CBS Early Show and The KTLA News, who called her the “Queen of the Cougar Jungle”.
